3 teenagers arrested in separate incidents

ELKHART — A 13-year-old male student at Elkhart Academy was arrested on Tuesday after being accused of battery, according to the Elkhart Police Department.

Officers were called to Elkhart General Hospital at 6:17 p.m. Monday as a result of an incident that occured at Elkhart Academy, police said. 

The victim reported that the accused put her in a headlock about 1:30 p.m. She reported non-life threatening injuries. 

In an unrelated incident Tuesday, an officer was working security at Elkhart Academy and was escorting a juvenile male who had caused a disturbance. 

According to police, the student the shoved the officer in the chest. The officer was able to gain control of the student with no further incident, police said.

The student was arrested for battery on a police officer. 

Separately, officers arrested a 14-year-old female on Tuesday after conducting a traffic stop at Main Street and Beardsley Avenue about 9:46 p.m.

Police found the driver the be the 14-year-old and arrested her for driving without ever receiving a license.

Whoa, wait just a minute! TWO incidents at a private Christian school? That simply doesn't happen . . . ever. That isn't how it's supposed to be. Will parents soon be pulling their angels out of that violent environment and flee to the safe haven of public schools?
