Sunday fatal house fire under investigation

ELKHART — A 58-year-old man was found deceased in his north Elkhart home when fire fighters responded to a report of a fire Sunday afternoon.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of Kenneth Beaudoin, who was found inside the single story house by the firefighters there to fight the fire.

According to a press release provided by the Elkhart County Sheriff Department Public Information Officer Captain Jim Bradberry, firefighters were on scene at the home in the 52000 block of CR 9 at around 12:48 p.m.

Sheriff’s Department investigators are working with the Elkhart County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of death, pending a toxicology report, according to Bradberry.
