Rally in Civic Plaza

Elkhart Mayor Rod Roberson and rally organizer Curbiee Coleman both said they were encouraged by the turnout at a rally in Civic Plaza on Friday.

ELKHART — A hastily organized “United We Stand” rally drew an enthusiastic crowd of more than 150 protesters to Civic Plaza late Friday in response to the violence in Minneapolis.

Police Chief Chris Snyder, appointed to the position under the previous administration after his predecessor was asked to resign, said his officers, like those anywhere, can make mistakes, "but when they do, they'll be held accountable."

Really, Chief? Accountable? Remember this from the Elkhart Police beating? Thayer is STILL an Assistant Police Chief. The cancer is not gone.:

"Everything is going good in Elkhart. Why are they coming over here into our back yard and trying to disrupt everything that we built?" Thayer said.
