ELKHART — New York charges against Chad Leiby have been lowered from a felony to a misdemeanor, according to Leiby's attorney Edward Narrow.

Leiby had faced three counts of felony grand larceny, which is punishable by up to 25 years in prison. Now he faces a charge of petite larceny, a Class A misdemeanor in New York, with a potential sentence of one year in jail or three years probation, according to New York law.

One of former Mayor Miller's moat trusted department heads! Shady as can be.

I'm curious. Just what is "petite" larceny?

A small amount dollar wise. And by reading one of the other posts, someone knows something not made public! Hmmm...not very good business savvy. Why would a couple of partners not keep track of their investment. Very very strange! I'd say this is FAR from over!

Read as 'petty'

when are charges against Niblock coming? They were 2/3 the business.

Their won't be any, Joe. They did not mismanage the business, not did they steal anything. They will be left with the Bank Note of about $8 Million. They are the ultimate deep pockets (they guaranteed the bank loans) but they are NOT culpably.

they were/are still 2/3 owners....just as guilty...silent partner doesn't excuse them of their responsibility...

stealing $21,000 is petty larceny in New York? Yikes!
