GOSHEN — An Elkhart man convicted of killing a mother of three offered a tearful apology to her family before receiving a life sentence Thursday.

Donald Owen Jr., 22, was sentenced to life in prison without eligibility for parole for his involvement in the murder of 31-year-old Kimberly Dyer. He was convicted of torturing and killing the Columbia City woman on Oct. 21, 2019, before dumping her body in Michigan inside a garbage can.
