GOSHEN — A court has handed down a $1 million judgment against an Elkhart woman convicted of killing her husband.

Angelica Castillo, 42, was sentenced to 45 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to the murder of 41-year-old Elder Castillo on May 17, 2018. Authorities said she shot her husband of 23 years and hid his body, which was not found for weeks, then made withdrawals from his bank account at casinos in three states before fleeing to Georgia.
