GOSHEN — Over 800 Elkhart County residents turned up as the early voting period got underway Tuesday.

Some of them had been waiting for half an hour by the time the doors were opened at 8 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Goshen, said Wayne Kramer, a poll worker and member of the Elkhart County Election Board. Between 30 and 40 people showed up in the first few minutes of voting.
