ELKHART — Organizers of a free concert in October hope to bring music back to the City of Elkhart for at least one evening.

Heart Beat of the City is a series of free outdoor performances on Oct. 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. They’ll be held at the RV Hall of Fame for a limited audience but also broadcast live to screens at the Elkhart High School east and west campuses and Pierre Moran Middle School for people to enjoy drive-in-movie or tailgate-party style.
