A letter from community leaders to the Norfolk Southern board of directors says the community has been negatively impacted by the expansion of the Elkhart Railyard and the addition of a rail line along the U.S. 33 corridor between Elkhart and Goshen.

GOSHEN — Goshen officials are asking that the city stop being treated like a parking lot in a letter to the Norfolk Southern railway this week.

The letter addressed to the board of directors says the community has been negatively impacted following the expansion of the Elkhart Railyard and the addition of a rail line along the U.S. 33 corridor between Elkhart and Goshen. It points to an uptick in rail traffic and blocked crossings as a result.
