ELKHART — An Osceola woman is accused of passing off over-the-counter pills as prescription painkillers while working as a nurse in Elkhart.
Laura Nichols, a 35-year-old former nurse at Elkhart General Hospital, is charged in a warrant issued Friday with interference with medical services by a licensed health care provider. In addition to the Level 5 felony, she faces charges of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and furnishing fraudulent information, both Level 6 felonies.
