At Elkhart City Hall, City Council members found themselves voting on party lines multiple times on Monday.

ELKHART — Less than five weeks after Republicans lost their majority to Democrats on the Elkhart City Council and members of both parties called for unity, multiple party-line votes have the parties criticizing each other.

Councilman David Henke, R-3, said he is disappointed with the Democrats’ approach to governing, describing it as “close enough” but not business-like.
