2 arrested following reports of gunfire

ELKHART — Two South Bend men were arrested in Elkhart after allegedly shooting from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Richmond Street, according to the Elkhart Police Department.

At 10:28 a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to that area and began canvassing for victims, evidence and a crime scene. 

While canvassing, officers became aware of a Nissan traveling down Charles Street when a shot was fired out of the vehicle, police said.

Officers stopped the Nissan and found two men inside.

Neither one had a permit to possess firearms. One of the men was found to be in possession of 37.1 grams of marijuana, according to police.

Daniel Conrad, 20, was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm without a permit and possession of marijuana. 

Dannil Clifton, 18, was arrested on a charge of possession of a firearm without a permit.
