Officers with the Elkhart Police Department are getting equipped with Narcan nasal sprays that can help save the life of someone overdosing from opioids.

ELKHART — All city police officers in Elkhart will be equipped with and trained to use Narcan to treat opioid overdoses, under a new policy approved Tuesday by the Board of Public Safety.

The new policy could save lives, law enforcement officials said.
