GOSHEN — The first class of participants in the Elkhart County Drug Court is on track to graduate as early as summer.

The court launched in January 2019 with a handful of people, all defendants facing charges related to substance abuse. It gives them the chance at a lighter sentence if they can get jobs, attend treatment, pass frequent drug tests and reach other milestones while attending weekly check-ins.

This program is a joke. One person misses a drug test one time due to illness and gets a weekend in jail. Next person misses many after going on the run fur weeks and is only made to write an essay about how they take the program seriously. JOKE.. Oh and don't ask to use your own attorney. NOT ALLOWED. isn't that a civil rights violation?

The death penalty for dealers & stricter sentences for users would probably work better
