The area around the Benham Avenue water tower south of the railroad tracks is one that could be in for a $3.6 million water and sewer upgrade next year. Another project on Lexington Avenue would cost $3 million.

ELKHART — Two large infrastructure projects could claim about a third of the city’s American Rescue Plan funds if the City Council approves the spending at its next meeting.

In memorandums to the City Council, City Engineer Tory Irwin outlines plans to spend $3.6 million on a water and sewer project around Benham Avenue, as well as $3 million on a similar project on Lexington Avenue.
