New owners of Amish Acres have announced several plans for the tourist attraction, including a name change.

NAPPANEE — The new owners of Amish Acres have announced a new name for the attraction, “The Barns at Nappanee, home of Amish Acres,” in hopes of continuing the more-than-50-year legacy of the property.

The announcement comes about a month after The Stutzman Group purchased the property in February from the Pletcher family. Partnership executives said they hope the new name will give the tourist attraction fresh focus and highlight the historic barns.

If the restaurant at the "new" Amish Acres is under the operation of the management of LaSalle, you can kiss affordable family meals goodbye and say hello to big plates, little food and big bills.
