Books & Brews: The next book discussion at 41 Degrees North restaurant in downtown Middlebury is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16. The book is “All Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion” by Fannie Flagg. Register at the Front Desk to pick up a copy of the book.

Open Circle Writers: Meet with other writers, share your work and hear the work of others. Next meeting is at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18. Register at the front desk.

Middlebury Menu Makers: Our next recipe exchange club is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 23. Stop by the library and fill out a recipe card, April’s theme is crockpot meals. Then bring your dish to the Tuesday meeting where the group samples each other’s recipes.

Parenting Workshop: At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, national speaker and author Brenda Yoder presents a parenting workshop on strategies to raise strong healthy kids.

Community Shred Day: From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 4, bring up to the equivalent of two banker boxes (15-by-12-by-10-inch) to shred for free in the library parking lot. Additional boxes can be shredded for a donation. This event is sponsored by Lake City Bank and the library.

Let’s Talk About It: At 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, Goshen College’s Kyle Schlabach talks about “The Sixth Extinction” by Elizabeth Kolbert. Register for this lecture/book discussion series at the Front Desk to pick up a special copy of the book.
