Middlebury holds annual Christmas Tree Lighting event

Guests gather around the newly lit Christmas Tree in Middlebury on Friday.

MIDDLEBURY — Over 300 residents came out to Middlebury’s Memorial Park for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event on Dec. 1.

Parks Department Manager Thomas Enright led the festivities. Dickens’ Carolers (Amber Pauls, Mary Norwood and Michelle Oyer) sang a few classic Christmas carols including ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Joy to the World.’

After their performance, the tree was lit and ‘Silent Night’ was sang while candles were lit for attendees to set the mood.

There were cookies, coffee and hot chocolate and pine cone crafts for kids.
