BRISTOL — The first annual crock pot cook off at the Bristol–Washington Township Public Library was held on Saturday, Jan. 27.

The adult-geared event saw roughly 15 people with nine total entries in categories of main dish, side dish and dessert.

“It’s just an event for people to make good food and come and enjoy each other,” Dawn Powell BPL Adult Program Coordinator, said.

Dale Snedaker, Russ Johnson and Tami DeLucenay, who is the library board president, served as judges for the event.

Recipes for each item brought to the judges were also available at the serving table.

Susie Meeks Wade, vegetarian chili; and Tressa Huddleston, loaded baked potato soup; won in the main dish category.

The lone entry for the side dish category, Roger Hennessy, won for his marinated mushrooms.

Due to the high number of entries in the dessert category, three individuals – Ray Kokesh, apple cobbler; Alexandria Kokesh, gooey s’mores candy; and Valerie Kokesh, Frito candy; were deemed winners.

All of the winners received a special prize pack from the library.

Bristol-Washington Township Public Library is located at 505 W. Vistula St., Bristol.
