ELKHART — Some of those behind bars for causing harm to society are now using their time to make a difference in the community they are striving to be a part of again.

A couple of dozen inmates at the Elkhart County Jail have been busy crocheting hats and scarves for local schools, ministries and shelters to help struggling families in need stay warm this winter.
