Middlebury cheese plant part of national Sargento and Meijer recall

Certain varieties of Sargento cheese have been recalled after a supplier in Middlebury reported possible Listeria contamination, which hasn't resulted in any reported illnesses.

PLYMOUTH, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin-based Sargento Foods Inc., is expanding a voluntary recall of some cheeses due to a possible bacterial contamination from a Middlebury cheese factory.

The company recalled some cheeses Feb. 10, but expanded the recall to include products produced on the same line. Sargento says it also cut ties with Middlebury-based Deutsch Kase Haus, which supplied Longhorn Colby cheese which may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
