BRISTOL — An advanced manufacturing plant on the outskirts of town “checks off all the boxes” on Elkhart County’s list of economic development goals, officials said, including good-paying jobs in a high-tech industry by a solid company.

Valmont Industries would invest more than $29 million to build and equip the plant to produce “spun concrete” utility poles, some as long as 130 feet.
