MENTOR, Ohio — Amber Lee Spence and Vernon Edward Myers were married Aug. 11, 2012, at Bible Community Church in Mentor by pastors Joshua Scheiderer and Doug Threlfall.
The bride’s parents are Thomas and Cindy Spence of Painesville. The groom’s parents are Lavern and Martha Myers of Elkhart, Ind.
Hanna Spence, the bride’s sister of Painesville, was maid of honor. Natalie Spence, the bride’s sister of Painesville, was bridesmaid.
Michael Myers, the groom’s brother of Fort Wayne, Ind., was best man. Todd Bryant, the groom’s brother-in-law of Evansville, Ind., was groomsman. Jim and John Wiser, the bride’s cousins, and Spencer Bryant and Christopher Myers, the groom’s nephews, were ushers.
The reception followed the ceremony at the Bible Community Church and School complex. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii on their trip back to Seoul, South Korea, where they reside.
The couple met when the bride came to the church where the groom was preaching in Seoul. The groom proposed in April 2012 as they went on a walk through an area of Seoul where there was a photographer to take pictures of the proposal.
Amber is a second grade teacher at Eucon International School in Seoul, which she has been instrumental in helping to establish. Ed is a minister and missionary. He teaches in a Biblical seminary and is serving as a professor of English and Bible at Sungshin University in Seoul.
