SOUTH BEND — Cristyn Cottone and Dustin Messick were married Dec. 17, 2011, at the South Bend Scottish Rite by Pastor Joe Werner.
The bride’s parents are Joseph and Cathrine Cottone of Commerce Township, Mich. The groom’s parents are Tom and Carol Messick of Elkhart.
Jamie Caldwell of Milford, Mich., was maid of honor. Sarah Shook of Greenville, Mich., was matron of honor. Tracie Docking of Grand Rapids, Mich., Amy Stewart of Detroit, Rachel Batti of South Bend, Alicia Champine of Rochester, Mich., and Tara Anderson of Knox were bridesmaids. Chloe Caldwell, the daughter of the maid of honor, of Milford, was the flower girl.
Brian Batti of South Bend was best man. Nick Parkhurst of Elkhart, Mike Todt of Fort Wayne, Chris Overmyer of South Bend, Ryan Williams of South Bend and Joe Cottone, brother of the bride, of Waterford, Mich., were groomsmen. Luca Cottone, nephew of the bride, of Waterford, was ring bearer. Jim Cottone, brother of the bride, of Port Huron, Mich., ushered.
They had a snowflake winter wonderland. A reception followed the wedding at South Bend Scottish Rite on Dec. 17. The couple honeymooned on a cruise to the Caribbean. They now reside in South Bend.
The couple were engaged on Christmas morning 2010. Cristyn’s present was a very large picture frame holding a picture of Dustin on one knee. At the bottom of the frame, it said “Cristyn, will you marry me?” He was already on one knee with the ring when Cristyn looked up.
