GOSHEN â” Kara Briann Konarski and Matthew Joseph Polston exchanged wedding vows Aug. 15, 2009, at River Oaks Community Church. Pastor Tim Rowland officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Brian Konarski of Elkhart and the late Linda Konarski. The groomâs parents are Mark and Lori Polston of Elkhart.
Christa Konarski of Elkhart, the brideâs sister, was maid of honor. Rachel Polston of Elkhart, the brideâs sister-in-law, Hannah Betzer of Elkhart, the groomâs niece, Kaylee Wolf of Elkhart, the groomâs cousin, Tara Snider of New Paris, and Petra Merlau and Sarah Thomas, both of Muncie, were bridesmaids. MaKenna Betzer, the groomâs niece, and Jamie Lawson, the groomâs cousin, were flower girls.
The groomâs brothers, Doug, Derek and Joshua Polston, all of Elkhart, were best men. Nick Tierney, Chad Pontius and Dustin Williams, all of Elkhart, and Kyle Whitesell of Speedway were groomsmen. Tyler Lawson, the groomâs cousin, was ring bearer. Brett and Kyle Konarski, both of Elkhart and brothers to the groom, Nick Huston of Indianapolis and Charley Spangle of Elkhart ushered.
The bride wore the pearl necklace, bracelet and earring set her mother wore when she was married. The brideâs aunt, Kristen Lazart, was an honorary mother. Mark Lazart, the brideâs uncle, sang Karaâs parentsâ song, âFollow You, Follow Me,â by Genesis during the ceremony and the coupleâs first dance song, âLove will Keep us Alive,â by the Eagles at the reception in Spohn Ballroom.
The couple honeymooned at Miami Beach, Fla.
M&Ms: The groom put an engagement ring into a bag of personalized M&Ms that had the brideâs name on them and said âWill you marry me?â shortly after Christmas 2007.
