Wind advisory in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday, thunderstorms predicted

    The National Weather Service predicts strong wind, rain and a chance of Thunderstorms for Saturday night and all day Sunday.

    The National Weather Service is warning residents of Michiana that thunderstorms, strong winds and rain are a possibility for Saturday night and Sunday morning.

    The NWS has issued a wind advisory for the area until 10 p.m. Saturday. Gusts from 25 to 35 mph are expected for Saturday night and gusts could reach 50 mph on Sunday.

    A wind advisory is issued when winds are at least 30 mph or gusts reach 45 mph or stronger.

    Thunderstorms are predicted to pass through the area around 8 p.m. The forecast shows rainy weather on and off through Sunday.

    A quarter- to half-an-inch of rainfall is possible Saturday night. Up to three-quarters of an inch is possible for Sunday.

    The NWS warns drivers that the strong winds could make driving difficult in open areas.
