When visitors check in at Wa-Nee Schools offices, their ID is scanned and a visitors badge sticker with their picture is printed, showing when they arrived and what building they are visiting. This is a new system the school district implemented in the 2014-15 school year.

Every visitor to the school system’s buildings in Nappanee and Wakarusa will need to present an ID for a limited background check, using equipment the district purchased with funds from a Department of Homeland Security school safety grant.
