Pinewood wins Elkhart elementary boys basketball championship

The winning team doubled the score of the losers in the championship game.

ELKHART — Pinewood defeated Roosevelt 36-18 Tuesday, March 4, in the championship game of the Elkhart elementary boys basketball tournament.

The Seth Schoetzow-coached Panthers (9-0) were led by Brooks Barnhizer (16 points) and Sebastian Robinson (11).

The Chris DeSelm-coached Rough Riders (9-1) were paced by Isaiah Moore (7) and Damond Paul (4).

On the way to the championship game, Pinewood topped St. Vincent, Eastwood and Feeser while Roosevelt bested Bristol, Osolo and Beck.




 Volleyball is among this week's junior high results.

 Satchel Pierce competes in the region portion of the Drive, Chip and Putt contest hosted by the PGA, USGA and The Masters at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel. The final is scheduled for April 5, 2015, on the historic 18th green at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
