NAPPANEE — Val Ostrowski, a record-setting goal scorer for NorthWood High School's soccer team, has signed a letter of intent to attend IUPUI in the fall.

Ostrowski was a four-time All-Northern Lakes Conference selection who scored 34 goals and added six assists and ranked second in the state in scoring. She will graduate with Panther career goal-scoring records for career (81), season (34) and game (5).

"At IU camp, I had 15 players on my team and 11 wanted to play forward," said Chris Johnson, IUPUI's head coach. "We put her at left back and she did really well. Then we put her at center mid and she excelled. Wherever we put her, she impacted the game. She'll help us no matter where she plays."
