ELKHART — Brittney VanderHoek, an Elkhart Central High School senior, has signed to continue her academic and soccer careers at Saint Xavier University in Chicago.

Forward VanderHoek wound up her career with the Blue Blazers at No. 3 all-time in goals with 43. She was a multi-time all-Northern Indiana Conference selection and team offensive MVP.

"She was an asset to the team," said Central head coach Chris Mallott. "She has a great attitude. She was willing to work and do whatever was needed for the team."

SXU, an NAIA program coached by Evan Strehlau, went 6-11-1 overall and 3-8 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
