NorthWood sails past Wawasee in opening round of sectional

Wawasee made it a game for a quarter before NorthWood took control.

NAPPANEE — Wawasee hung tough for just over a quarter, but in the end, the Warriors were no match for the might of NorthWood.

The Panthers leaped to a 68-38 win in the first round of the NorthWood 3A girls basketball sectionals Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Morgan Olson led the NorthWood charge, scoring 20 points and grabbing five rebounds. Warrior sophomore Kylee Rostochak scored a game-high 21 points in the loss.

NorthWood moves to 17-5 and will face Tippecanoe Valley in the sectional semifinal Friday.
