SOUTH BEND — Penn High School senior forward Taylor Brooks has made his commitment to play basketball for IUSB official, signing a letter of intent with the Titans.

"Taylor is a guy (who) has been on our radar all year, and was a good get for us this late in the recruiting process," IUSB coach Scott Cooper said. "He is a versatile forward with some serious length and high motor. His ability to shoot the 3, finish inside, defend multiple positions and rebound in traffic will make him a great fit in our program. He is also a high-character kid from a great family."

The 6-foot-5 Brooks averaged 8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.7 blocks while typically coming off the bench this past season for a deep Penn club that went a program-best 23-2 with Northern Indiana Conference and Class 4A South Bend Washington Sectional titles. Brooks shot 59 percent from the field and 81 percent at the line on his way to earning an Elkhart Truth All-Area honorable mention nod.

The NAIA Division II Titans finished 12-18 overall, 8-11 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, this past winter in their first season under Cooper.
