NorthWood's Wolfe, Penn's Rhodes honored by basketball coaching peers

Aaron Wolfe led NorthWood to a 21-3 record and a 3A sectional title. Al Rhodes guided Penn to a 23-2 mark with Northern Indiana Conference and 4A Sectional crowns.

INDIANAPOLIS — NorthWood High School's Aaron Wolfe and Penn High School's Al Rhodes are among Indiana's six Bob King Coaches of the Year as selected by the boys members of the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

Wolfe and Rhodes were honored in District 1. Wolfe was an assistant to Rhodes when both were at Warsaw.

Wolfe directed NorthWood to a 21-3 season, including a Class 3A sectional title. His teams have gone 98-62 in seven seasons with the Panthers.

Rhodes guided Penn to a 23-2 record this season which included Class 4A sectional and Northern Indiana Conference championships. He is 83-51 in six seasons with the Kingsmen, and he is 539-243 in 33 seasons as a varsity coach.

Also saluted were Kent Chezem of Covington and Brent Keck of Perry Meridian in District 2 and Bryan Hughes of Barr-Reeve and Jamie Kolkmeier of Corydon Central in District 3.
