COLUMBUS, Ohio — Tanner Tully, a 2013 Elkhart Central High School graduate and Ohio State University left-handed pitcher, has been named to the Collegiate Baseball newspaper and Perfect Game Freshman All-America teams.

After starting the season in the bullpen, Tully took over a starting role just before Big Ten play, making 11 starts in 16 appearances.

Tully ranked fifth in the Big Ten with a 2.22 ERA and eighth with 93 1/3 innings pitched. He tossed at least seven innings in nine of his last 10 starts, went 6-3 and struck out 53 while allowing just seven walks.

The southpaw ranks second nationally with 0.68 walks per nine innings and eighth with a 7.57-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Last month, Tully was named Ohio State’s 11th Big Ten Freshman of the Year in addition to second team All-Big Ten and All-Freshman team laurels.

OSU outfielder Ronnie Dawson was also named to the CB and PG Freshman All-All-America squads.
