Westview tops Canterbury to reach high school baseball finals

Beachy tosses a complete game to key Westview’s win.

WHITING — The Westview baseball team reached the championship game of the Class 2A Whiting Regional on Saturday, June 7, beating Fort Wayne Canterbury 5-2.

Winning pitcher Tarin Beachy tosses a complete game, while also slugging a triple. Beachy allowed just seven hits.

Jamar Weaver had two hits, including a double for the Warriors, while Jake Berkey stole two bases. Chase Anderson and Hunter Christner also had two hits for the Warriors.

Westview led 5-0, before Canterbury scored twice in the seventh..

Lafayette Catholic defeated Bishop Noll 5-3 to reach the regional championship game opposite Westview.
