The South Bend Silver Hawks are batting against cancer this weekend.

In an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer, the Silver Hawks are giving out special pink replica jerseys to the first 750 women over the age of 18 who arrive at Four Finds Field Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18.

"We are excited to partner with Memorial Regional Breast Care Center again this summer to bring awareness to this terrible disease but to also celebrate the women that have overcome breast cancer,“ Joe Hart, Silver Hawks team president said in a statement. "It is going to be a great weekend and I always enjoy watching our team support the cause by wearing the pink jerseys during the game, plus it is a great opportunity for 1,500 lucky women to receive a replica pink Silver Hawks jersey.”

The Silver Hawks will wear pink jerseys when they play the Fort Wayne TinCaps both days. The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off during Saturday and Sunday’s games. The proceeds will benefit Memorial Regional Breast Cancer Care.

Games begin at 7:05 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets start at $9 and are available to purchase online or at the gate.
