Stanley Coveleski bronze statue to be unveiled Tuesday

A life-size bronze statue of former South Bend resident and Baseball Hall of Famer will be unveiled Tuesday at the Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium.

SOUTH BEND — Stanley Coveleski, a former South Bend resident and Baseball Hall of Famer, will be honored at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, with the unveiling of a life-size bronze statue at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium.

The unveiling ceremony, led by South Bend Silver Hawks owner Andrew Berlin, will take place at the park's center field entrance and come prior to the 7 p.m. home opener.

The statue was designed and created by Timeless Creation, the same company that created the Michael Jordan statue located outside the United Center in Chicago.
