Northridge blanks South Bend Adams in football season opener

Despite a flurry of turnovers, the Raiders are 1-0.

MIDDLEBURY — Northridge overcame slippery hands to shutout South Bend Adams in the first game of the season Friday, Aug. 22.

The Raiders fumbled six times — losing it four — in a 14-0 win over the Eagles. Both of Northridge’s scores came off of long runs, first by Payton Carson (55 yards) in the second quarter and then by Travis Schlabach (65 yards) in the third.

Schlabach finished with a game-high 103 rushing yards on 14 carries.
