Elkhart Central’s owned it on Blazer Boulevard for two straight years. Rival Elkhart Memorial will try to take it back on Friday, Aug. 22. Fans are encouraged to stick around after the game for a fireworks display.
The Crimson Chargers haven’t lost three straight season openers since a run of setbacks from 1997-2000. The Blue Blazers own a 25-19 edge in the all-time series dating back to 1972.
