NorthWood boys golfers heading into first IHSAA finals appearance

Panthers to tee off beginning at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin.

FRANKLIN — Teeing off No. 1 on the Middle 9, NorthWood has been paired with No. 2-ranked Columbus North, No. 11 Plainfield and Yorktown with tee times scheduled from 9:21 to 9:57 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, in the first round of the IHSAA Boys Golf State Finals at The Legends Golf Club, 2555 No. Hurricane Rd., Franklin.

The Panthers, fresh off the school's first regional title (earned Thursday, June 12, at Stonehenge Golf Club in Winona Lake), are to be represented by (in order from 1-5) junior Alec Dutkowski, senior Brayden Glaser, senior Logan Kauffman, junior Matt Ely and sophomore Hayden Klotz.

Marian's Michael Makris, who tied for seventh place in 2013 and became a three-time Northern Indiana Conference MVP in 2014, is back for his senior season and will compete as an individual. His tee time on No. 10 on the Road 9 is 8:18 a.m.

Westfield is the defending team champion.

All competitors will play 36 holes over the two-day event. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, June 18, at The Legends.

Admission is $12 per day.
