Penn's Geist scores 13 as Indiana Junior All-Stars lose to Indiana All-Stars

COLUMBUS — Trevon Bluiett blew up the Junior All-Stars for 44 points as the Indiana All-Stars cruised to a 124-102 exhibition basketball victory Wednesday, June 11, at Columbus North High School.

Bluiett, the Xavier recruit who led Indianapolis Park Tudor over Westview in the Class 2A state title game in March, went 19-of-26 from the field with two treys and added a game-high 12 rebounds. He had scored 30 points in Monday’s win against the Juniors.

Indiana recruit James Blackmon Jr. added 28 points in the latest victory. He was 11-of-19 from the field, including 5-of-10 outside the arc.

Penn’s Jordan Geist was one of five players in double figures for the Juniors, scoring 13 points, going 6-of-8 from the field, grabbing four rebounds and dealing two assists in 14 minutes.

Mr. Basketball Trey Lyles sat out due to illness, as did Plymouth senior Mack Mercer after suffering an injury in practice.

In the girls game, the All-Stars avenged their Monday loss to their Junior counterparts, prevailing 73-71.

Penn’s Caroline Buhr had two points, three rebounds and two steals in 16 minutes for the winners.

The Indiana All-Stars face the Kentucky All-Stars in girl/boy doubleheaders Friday in Lexington and Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
