Penn's Harlacher MVP of 2014 NIC baseball season

Third baseman Cole Harlacher helped the Kingsmen to a conference championship. Penn’s Greg Dikos is the NIC Coach of the Year.

SOUTH BEND — Penn High School senior Cole Harlacher was named MVP of the 2014 Northern Indiana Conference baseball season.

Besides third baseman Harlacher, champion Penn placed sophomore pitcher Skylar Szynski, senior pitcher Jake Thoma, senior first baseman Colin McNamara, sophomore second baseman Luke Schneider, senior shortstop Austin Toth and senior outfielder C.J. Banashak were named to the all-NIC first team.

Marian High School senior catcher Josh Turnock is also a first-teamer.

His peers named Penn's Greg Dikos NIC Coach of the Year.
