Jordan Geist of Penn High School was the Indiana Junior All-Stars’ top scorer during their two-game boys basketball sweep of their Kentucky counterparts over the weekend.

Geist poured in 36 points over the two contests as Indiana beat Kentucky 127-104 on Friday, June 6, at Greenfield-Central near Indianapolis and 113-101 the following night in Lexington, Ky.

In that second-game, Geist tallied a team-high 19 points in just 14 minutes before fouling out. He was 5-of-9 from the field, including 4-of-5 on 3-pointers, and 5-of-6 at the line to go with two assists and a steal. In the first game, he had 17, while Hyron Edwards led Indiana with 20 points

NorthWood’s Jordyn Frantz competed in the girls end of the Friday doubleheader and scored 10 points in Indiana’s 98-67 blowout win over Kentucky.

Geist, as a Core Six Junior All-Star, was slated to compete in both games as the juniors help the Indiana All-Stars tune up for their Kentucky matchups with exhibitions Monday, June 9, at Logansport and Wednesday, June 11, at Columbus North.

Both those contests follow the 6 p.m. girls games. Frantz, as a North Six Junior All-Star, was scheduled to participate in just one of those two exhibitions.
