NorthWood falls in 3A regional semifinals

Yorktown ends NorthWood season with 6-3 win.

DECATUR — Five errors helped spell doom for the NorthWood High School baseball team in the Class 3A Bellmont Regional on Saturday, June 7.

The Panthers lost 6-3 to Yorktown in the regional semifinals, although losing pitcher Vincent Miranda gave up no earned runs in the game.

Miranda, Hunter Lane and Chad Sellers each had a pair of hits for the Panthers, who scored all three of their runs in the seventh inning.

Catcher Nathan Philllips slugged a three-run homer for Yorktown, while winning pitcher Jake Preston had two hits and drove in a run

NorthWood’s season is over with a 21-6 record, while Yorktown (17-11) advanced to play will play Fort Wayne Dwenger for the regional title
