Clark, Pletcher set Jimtown softball records en route to All-NSC team

Jimtown’s Bailey Clark, Kaylee Pletcher and Katie Woods are first-team selections.

JIMTOWN — Jimtown's Bailey Clark, Kaylee Pletcher and Katie Woods were all named to the 2014 all-Northern State Conference softball first team. Clark is a junior, Pletcher a sophomore and Wood a freshman.

Clark set a Jimtown record with 46 RBI in 2014 while Pletcher and Clark each set a new Jimmie home run record with six.

Bremen won the NSC championship at 14-0.


First team: Infielders — Micaela Box (Bremen), Emily Molden (Bremen), Katie Woods (Jimtown), Sarah Coad (Knox), Brooke Prestin (New Prairie), Toree Friedrich (New Prairie), Krystal Sellers (Triton). Catchers — Shelby Zellmer (Bremen), Ashton Woods (New Prairie), Alyson Brown (Triton), Mallorie Jennings (Triton). Outfielders — Sabrina Gilley (Bremen), Bailey Clark (Jimtown), Autumn Slough (LaVille), Bria Parmalee (New Prairie), Hannah Jennings (Triton). Pitchers — Chelsea Huppert (Bremen), Hannah Herbster (LaVille), Brandee Pietrzak (New Prairie). At-Large: Kaylee Pletcher (Jimtown), Koral Mendenhall (Glenn).

Area honorable mention: Jimtown — if Ashley Alvey, of Ali Clere, if Sierra Geier, of Pletcher.

Final NSC records: Bremen 14-0, New Prairie 12-2, Triton 11-3, Jimtown 8-6, LaVille 6-8, Knox 3-11, Glenn 2-10, Culver 0-14.
