Penn takes 18th sectional baseball title with win against Clay

LaPorte Regional on Saturday, June 7, is next for Kingsmen

PLYMOUTH — Penn had to wait an extra day, but the Kingsmen got to raise an 18th sectional baseball trophy Tuesday, June 3, at Bill Nixon Field.

Rain on Monday, June 2, moved the game back a day. Penn beat South Bend Clay 5-2 to win the Class 4A Plymouth Sectional and earn a berth in the LaPorte Regional on Saturday, June 7.

Colin McNamara homered for the Kingsmen (27-4). K.G. Parkhurst homered for Clay (14-14).

Penn starter Cole Harlacher was the winning pitcher with relief from Skylar Szynski.

Bethany Christian won 7-1. Nussbaum scored three goals and three assists and broke the Bethany Christian's career points record with 68.
