Goshen High School's Trenshaw, Watts, Weirich sign with D-III football programs in Indiana

John Trenshaw will play for Manchester University, Mitchell Watts will play for Trine University and Austin Weirich will play for Wabash College.

GOSHEN — Three Goshen High School seniors — John Trenshaw, Mitchell Watts and Austin Weirich — have made commitments to continue their academic and football careers at the NCAA Division III level.

Trenshaw and Weirich were team MVPs at GHS in 2013. Trenshaw and Watts were all-Northern Lakes Conference first-teamers.

Trenshaw is bound for Manchester University in North Manchester, where he plans to study sports medicine/athletic training. He is a two-year football letterwinner and three-year wrestling letterwinner at Goshen.

The Manchester Spartans, coached by Shannon Griffith, went 3-7 overall and 3-5 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2013.

Watts, who won three football letters at GHS, is headed to Trine University Angola, where he plans to major in sports management.

The Trine Thunder, coached by Matt Land went 4-6 overall and 1-5 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in 2013.

Weirich, also a three-time football letterwinner for the Redskins, is going to Wabash College in Crawfordsville where he intends to major in economics and rhetoric and minor in history.

The Wabash Little Giants, coached by Erik Raeburn, went 9-1 overall and 8-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference in 2013.
