Curry, Concord baseball takes two from Northridge

Elkhart Memorial moves to 7-3 in Northern Lakes Conference, Jimtown to 10-0 in Northern State Conference.

Brenden Curry was the winning pitcher in both games as Concord topped Northridge 6-4 in nine innings and 7-0 Monday, May 12, in Northern Lakes Conference baseball.

Curry fanned 12 batters in the second game.

The first game was the completion of a game suspended because of darkness at Northridge. Nick DeFreese drove in two runs in Game 1 while he homered and Dylan Troyer knocked in three runs in Game 2 for the Minutemen.

At Elkhart, South Bend Clay scored two runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh to defeate Elkhart Central, 4-2, in Northern Indiana Conference play. Micah Bowyer had two hits for the Blue Blazers.

At Elkhart, Jake Tucker pitched a two-hitter (both Deric Haynes singles) while Scottie Clark and Dallas Lundgren drove in two runs each and Jon Bailey stole three bases to guide Elkhart Memorial (12-8-1 7-3) to a NLC win against Goshen.

At Knox. Zach Weinkauf (4-1) and CJ Holman combined on a three-hitter as Jimtown (12-5, 10-0) beat Northern State Conference opponent Knox 3-1.

At Benton, Tony Zook plated three runs to help Fairfield (16-3, 5-1) beat Hamilton 14-1.

At Nappanee, Hunter Lane drove in two runs and Tanner Farmwald scored two runs as NorthWood topped Wawasee 5-1.
