Miller's softball no-hitter helps Concord beat NorthWood

Grace Grevengoed had three hits and drove in two as Northridge topped Goshen 13-1.

Concord pitcher RaeAnn Miller tossed a no-hitter Monday, April 21, to lead the Minutemen to a 4-0 softball victory over visiting NorthWood in the Northern Lakes Conference opener for both teams.

Miller walked two and struckout seven in the game. Jenny Miller had three doubles to key the Concord offense.

At Goshen, Northridge all-state candidate Haley Nixon tossed a two-hitter to lead the Raiders past Goshen, 13-1. Grace Grevengoed had three hits and drove in two for the Raiders.

At Culver, freshman Ashley Alvey had two hits, including a homer, and drove in four runs, as Jimtown defeated the host Cavaliers 11-1, in Northern State Conference action.

At Topeka, Westview pitcher Sam Pfenning tossed a five-hit shutout and added to hits to lead the Warriors to a 7-0 victory over Fremont in Northeast Corner Conference action.

At Garrett, the host Railroaders scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, ending the game with a three-run walkoff homer, to beat Fairfield 5-2 in NECC play.
