VanderHoek leads Blue Blazers to softball win on Crimson Chargers' field

Brittney VanderHoek scored 3 runs Friday, April 18, in a 9-6 softball victory for Elkhart Central (3-3) at Elkhart Memorial.

At Jimtown, Mishawaka knocked off the host Jimmies, 5-1, in a non-conference game.Katelyn Woods had two hits, including a double, for Jimtown.

At Syracuse, Ali Ousley doubled home Meghan Fretz in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Wawasee a 6-5 victory over Manchester. Kylee Rostochak had three hits to lead the Warriors.

 At Topeka, Brooke Wigner singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning, as the host Warriors beat Bethany Christian, 13-12.

Bethany had scored three runs in the top of the eighth to take the lead, before Westview bounced back with four in the bottom of the inning. The Bruins' Lorae Weaver had five hits, including a homer, in a losing cause.
